FaceBook Namespace, Get Yours or Perish!

I am not sure If I told you about this before but snatching up your "online persona" is an important part of reputation management. Its not too uncommon for someone to "google you" before deciding to do business with you.

Hiring managers and HR professionals around the world have found an easy way to find out more about you and you need to manage what they find.

I personally don’t have to worry too much because my name is fairly common and buried in an ocean of other robert stanleys.  BUT… if your name is unique or if you "google" yourself and something bad comes up, then you might have work to do.

If you dont already own "yourname.com", go get it. And if you don’t already have twitter.com/yourname, go get it!   AND…. if your on facebook, do the same thing this Friday when they release the changes.
