Facebook Addiction Leads to Arrest

image “Excuse me, can I borrow your laptop?”. So, a 19 year old is arrested for attempting to steal a laptop after the laptop owner refuses to let him use it to log into his Facebook account. What was this kid thinking? I suppose it is possible that he never intended on logging into Facebook and planned to snatch the laptop anyway but what a strange theft method.

For some people, like me, that is like asking to borrow your car or stay the night at your house. That makes me think, what would I do if someone did grab my laptop? Perhaps I should consider encryption or some other protection method for my important information. Oh, and this whole episode went down at a Starbucks so if you happen to frequent your favorite coffee shop for free internet access, be on the lookout for copycat thieves.

What would you do if someone snagged your laptop unexpectedly?Do you have any personal information that you might need to protect?

You can read the original story about the “Sudden snatching suspect caught” at the herald tribune.
