XML-RPC Challenges

Well I’ve encountered my first challenge while starting Highfade.com. I installed and upgraded WordPress 2.6 .1 and after doing so, I discovered that XML — RPC is no longer enabled by default.

Apparently this has been disabled for security reasons.  Although, as is common with security settings, security becomes an inhibitor.  Why can’t we have things that are both secure and easy-to-use? Think WordPress is a great and wonderful tool, and without it I would be not be blogging on the Internet.

However, I don’t enjoy using the built-in editing tools, because I have to login every time I want to post a new entry.  So I’ve tested several blogging utilities to have settled on Windows live writer.

I was starting to use Windows live writer , as I usually do, and discovered that it would not work.  Below is a screenshot from what I found to be the problem.

XML-RPC

After doings research onlinereviewing other blog entries in such, I discovered thatthis setting is simply changedwithinWordPress itself.
Simply enter the admin page and go to the writing section under settings within here you’ll find a checkbox that you can set to enable XML — RPC , once enabled, you will be a lead use your favorite blogging client once again. See the screenshot below.

I hope this entry help somebody.I could not find any instructions myself while doing a Google search for similar information regarding XML — RPC.
